BLUSTERY LITTLE STORM HEADED INTO THE NORTH BAY

Share with Friends

While it may bring us mostly just cold air, a showery and blustery spring storm will shake things up across the North Bay this Friday and Saturday.

The little disturbance will drop into the region beginning Thursday and clear out by late Saturday, bringing gusty winds and showers at times, especially to our north and east.

Rainfall looks very light at this point, adding up to just a few hundreds of an inch in most valley locations. When storms like this drop in from the north, our region is often rain shadowed as you can see in the forecast below.

The bigger story will be quite cool temperatures, with the deep late season low pressure center forecast to pass directly over the Bay Area. By Thursday the cooler air will arrive and our highs Friday and Saturday will plunge into the upper 50s to low 60s. It will seem very chilly, around 5-10 degrees below average for the date.

As the low passes to the east temperatures will start to rebound quickly on Sunday, with daytime highs in the 70s expected to return for an extended stay from Monday through next week and beyond.

And, looking further ahead, no significant storminess is likely to come our way at least into the first week of May.
