A SERIES OF STORMS INBOUND. IMPRESSIVE RAINFALL TOTALS POSSIBLE OVER UPCOMING 10 DAYS.

All evidence now agrees that the next week to week and a half will bring the storm series we have been waiting for. Storms that will not only bring precious moisture, but also help to end the fire season. And with each recent model run, the storms will be pushing further south and becoming wetter.

Sunday at midday, the first wave is headed in, with another for Tuesday already visible in the Northern Pacific. (Image 1)

Late Sunday afternoon the first storm should bring about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain to the North Bay. (Image 2)

Then expect another storm on Tuesday afternoon, (Image 3) and another on Friday. (Image 4)

All through the week the low pressure trough should dig further south. (Image 5)

And the storms should bring more rain as the low off the coast deepens. There is some evidence that some weak atmospheric rivers may become entrained at times. In any case, storms next Saturday and Sunday (the 23rd) may be the wettest of the series. (Images 6 and 7)

And, another storm is possible a few days later, on Tuesday the 26th. (Image

It goes without saying that our rainfall totals could be impressive. Here are a few estimates of total rain by October 28th. (Images 9, 10, 11)

As they say, the further out our forecast goes, the more things could change. But there has been remarkable and consistent agreement among the models of this pattern change, and the incoming rain amounts. We’ll update you as necessary.
