A BLAST OF RAIN AND CHILL ARRIVES SUNDAY-MONDAY
Winter is showing it’s not quite done with California as a quick shot of rain and cool temperatures are due to arrive late Sunday into Monday.
The rain will arrive with a cold upper level low sweeping across California. You can see the forecast below.
Rain and showers will begin in the overnight hours early Monday and continue in showers through most of the day. The WPC model shows only about a tenth or two of rainfall forecast across the area. The European model (2nd image below) is a bit wetter, with over a half inch in Ukiah and a third of an inch in Healdsburg.
All of this will come with cool temperatures. On Monday, highs will be more than 10 degrees below average in many spots, topping out around 60 or so.
By Tuesday a warming trend will begin, with highs climbing back up in the mid 70s by Wednesday and Thursday.
The next cool blast looks to arrive around the 18th, when another low pressure system will likely pass just to the east of California. We will likely cool back down into the 60s, but it looks right now like the rain will stay east of us.
