As expected, North Bay mountaintops above 1000 feet received a blanket of snow Monday night.  The images from around the area show a dusting to several inches.  At the 2700 foot level of Mt. Hood Regional Park, about 2 inches were on the ground.

Elsewhere, the hills east of Petaluma and Santa Rosa were white this morning, as were the summits of several regional peaks.

As for the Sierra, ski resorts picked up 3-4 more feet of snow overnight, putting the total since Friday at up to 10 feet.  Here is the scene Tuesday morning from Homewood Ski Resort, on the west side of Lake Tahoe.

The snowy weather has now moved east, and cold temperatures will follow.  Sonoma County will drop into the upper 20s to around 30 degrees in most locations Wednesday morning, before warming a bit later in the week.
